The National Seniors Pairs Championship is thrilling matchplay event. Each round is played within a window of about four weeks so once you receive the draw you just get in touch with your opponents to fix a mutually suitable date. Teams are drawn either at home or away and it is a knock-out. Early rounds are played on a regional basis to minimise travel. there is a "Plate" tournament for first round losers, so everyone gets at least two games.

The Winners 2008

Congratulations to Messrs SMITH & DAVIS (above) from ST PIERRE who beat Messrs Shepherd & Birchall (Oakdale) 4 & 2 in the final. In the semi-finals Smith & Davis had beaten Allison & Smy (Diss) 4 & 3; and Shepherd & Birchall had beaten Barnett & Jones (Tandridge) by 4 & 2. In the Plate the winners were Messrs Rowlands & Whitelaw (below) from Mile End, who beat Messrs Waller & Snowden (Eaglescliffe). In the semi-finals Waller/Snowden had defeated Chambers & Newdick (Oak Park) 2 & 1 and Rowlands & Whitelaw had beaten Rham & Blaber (Willingdon), also 2 & 1. Congratulations to all and thank you to everyone for entering. See you again in 2009.

	To enter for 2009 just send an email (see CONTACT US page) with name of Club, names of both players with handicaps, ages, tels and email address (main contact first please). Cost per pair is just £25. Cheques should be sent by post to: Seniors Golf Association, 37 Streetley Crescent, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield B74 4PZ. Closing date for entries is March 26th 2009.
